- The Sparx Blade Holder is the only tool to use when sharpening blades that are not in the boot holders. Many players have spare blades these days and want them sharpened without having to put them onto the boots.
- Also some blades have very little height left and may not be able to be sharpened by the staff at the local rink. If you take the blades out of the boot holders and put them into the Sparx Holder then you will be able to sharpen the blades.
- Pro Tip: Skate steel is in its straightest state when not mounted in the holder. If you're a stickler for even edges, try removing your blades from the holder and sharpening with the Sparx Blade holder. THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO SHARPEN BLADES.
